One of the ways to see success this year could be to work on your business’ social media presence, as a strong online profile can lead to improved accessibility of your business’ information by your customers. But making your resolutions doesn’t have to mean completely overhauling everything you’re doing–we have a few resolutions that can help you improve your business’ social media in steady, measurable ways!
First things first–start small
If you don’t have a social media presence for your business, start small so you don’t overwhelm yourself. Take some time this year to create a Facebook page for your business, or consider creating an account on other social media platforms if you think they might be a better way to connect with customers. (Unsure of which social media platform is best for you? Check out this blog post.) Make sure that you link this new profile to your business’ website if you have one, to start gaining some followers.
If you already have a Facebook page or Instagram account, but you don’t use them regularly to promote your products or services, set small goals for yourself. Maybe you can start updating these profiles once or twice a week, and see how that affects your online presence and your in-person sales.
Take steps to scale up
If you have an established social media presence for your business, take some time this year to scale up that presence. Perhaps you already post a few times a week, but those posts are just general updates–try planning out some giveaway posts or employee features to engage your audience in new ways. Maybe you don’t look at the comments on your posts–consider taking some time each week to answer questions that your followers leave as comments. By making these small but important goals, you can continue to utilize social media in new ways to improve your followers’ experiences with your business.
Look out for new features that work for you
It’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the features that different social media platforms offer. On Facebook alone, you can take advantage of Pages, Groups, Stories, and Events–and that’s just a handful of features on Facebook!
But don’t let the number of options hold you back from finding out which ones can improve your business’ social media presence. Try to take some time this year to figure out which features work for you, and take full advantage of them. For example, not all businesses will benefit greatly from using the Reels feature on Instagram, but if you have experience in video editing and a passion for presenting your products using multimedia, Reels might be for you!
In general, keep it simple
It’s easy to get swept up in setting big goals for the year, but remember to keep your social media resolutions simple–even with all the advantages that social media offers, you’ll sometimes only get out what you can put in. By making gradual moves throughout 2022, you may see your social media presence soar this year!
