Here’s a look back at one of our previous blog posts in honor of fall!
Fall often brings with it a sense of new beginnings–back-to-school, crisp mornings, and new adventures are all on the horizon! In the same way, a new season can be a great excuse to revamp some of your business’ social media content!
Here are some of our tips for making the most out of autumn on social media!
Embrace the trends
With fall comes certain popular trends and events. Halloween, a new school year, pumpkin spice–all of these things scream fall! While you don’t want to overemphasize these popular aspects of this season, including fall trends in your social media content can be a great way to appeal to followers who are thrilled that we’ve turned the corner into fall!
Think about how fall can be incorporated into what your business does. If you run a coffeeshop, bakery, or restaurant, one or two fall specials can be a great thing to introduce on social media! (Bonus points if they include classic fall flavors like apple or pumpkin spice!) If there’s no easy way to incorporate seasonal trends into your products or services, consider partnering up with another business that specializes in autumn activities. Maybe you can collaborate with a nearby farm that offers apple picking, or help to sponsor a Halloween fun run. Whatever you do, be sure to shout it out on social media.
Consider your visuals
Try out seasonal fonts and imagery in your visuals on social media. While you don’t want to depart from your branding, you could certainly experiment with a background of colorful leaves for a post, or make some spooky videos around Halloween. It doesn’t have to be over-the-top to be fun and interest your followers!
Think about what your customers will be looking for
Fall brings a lot of new changes in routines, weather, and activities. Depending on what your business offers, you might be able to help your customers with some of these changes, and that’s definitely something you’ll want to share with them on social media!
For example, if you offer gutter cleaning services, fall is a great time to be posting consistently about how you can help your customers get rid of all the falling leaves. Or if you offer babysitting or petsitting services, you can post about how your services can help once school is back in session.
Now is also a great time to think about what deals you might offer customers. Nothing is as enticing as a great product or service at an affordable price, and a back-to-school or seasonal special is a great thing to advertise via social media!
Keep your social media updates frequent and consistent
Now that summer is over, it’s more likely that your customers will be traveling less, and thus be local and potentially visiting your business more. Make sure that any updates about your business are posted to your social media accounts, so that customers can know if there are changes to business hours or new products on the shelves. Having an up-to-date social media account not only helps your customers stay informed, but it also makes your business seem professional and on top of things.
How are you celebrating the new season, both on social media and off of it?
