
User Generated Content, or UGC, is the term for when other people create content about your business or organization. This can come in a variety of forms, including an Instagram Story where they talk about their favorite product, a Facebook post that mentions a business’ services, or a series of photos highlighting an excellent dining experience at a restaurant.
Whenever you see UGC created around your business or organization, it’s a great opportunity to share that content on your own page or account. It’s usually a good idea to request permission from the creator before you do this, but sharing UGC to your followers is encouraging word-of-mouth advertising for your business or organization. People will generally look more favorably on reviews and information that’s coming from someone else, rather than directly from your business, so sharing UGC increases credibility for you!
