Question: Should I share about my business on my personal social media accounts?
Answer: Let’s say you just started a new business–congratulations! One of the first things you’ll want to do is create a social media presence specifically for your business. Even though you’re the business owner, it’s a good idea to keep your personal social media profiles and your professional social media presence separate, for both your benefit and for other peoples’.
After all, most people probably follow your personal accounts to hear about all aspects of your life, not just your business. Having a separate account or profile for your business helps you to not spam your friends and family with news about your business, and it’s also a great way for anyone and everyone (even people who don’t know you) to learn more about your business.
That being said, posting on your personal accounts once and a while about your business isn’t a bad thing, especially if you have big news or an exciting event coming up. Just remember–keeping the majority of your business posts on your business’ page or account will provide better and more organized information.
