It can be difficult to come up with content for social media at the very moment you need to post it. A lot of content needs to be planned in advance–photos need to be taken, graphics need to be made, and the purpose behind the content needs to be decided on. It can also feel overwhelming to have to come up with quality content on the spot.
For this action item, you don’t need fancy scheduling software or equipment, but you do need a spreadsheet–whether on your computer or on paper, lay out columns for categories like visual content (photos, videos, and graphics), text and hashtags, any applicable links, what platform the content will be posted on, and any additional factors you think would be helpful to note. (Ex. If you’re planning out Instagram Stories, you might want to have an idea of what features you want to include, such as polls or question boxes.) Then, think about the upcoming weeks and lay out exactly what you’ll need to post on each platform. Then, when the time comes to make the post, you’ll have all your information already set–you’ll just need to plug it in and hit “Post”!
